Les Mitchell

Founder

Les Mitchell, Vice President and founder of Mitchco, began Les Mitchell Construction in 1979. The business was incorporated and the name changed in 1989. Les is a North Carolina native who is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Fresh out of college, he worked for an oil company in Tulsa and Miami, from where he was drafted into the army and served two years. He then lived in Virginia Beach working for Xerox Corp. for 8 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to move back home and begin his construction business.

He wanted to apply the lessons he had learned about customer care and customer service to his own business, and has always lived by the philosophy that: "Without the customer, the need for the rest of us doesn't exist.”
